The narrow streets of the Schnoor
The Schnoor (Low German for twine) is a mediaeval quarter in which formerly ropes and dews were produced. The half-timbered buildings from 15th and 16th centuries form narrow alleys with shops and restaurants, that invite you to browse and pause. Every year countless people stroll through the Schnoor and let themselves be carried away in medieval times.
On the eastern edge of the district old buildings nestle on the inside of the former city wall. Our business in Materburg 45 belongs to this building ensemble and gives access to an old treasure: a part of the city wall from the 13th century.
